E-Service Support Technician (Local)

INTRODUCTION

Ministry of Education (MoE) wishes to hire Two (2) energetic, self-motivated, organized and enthusiastic staff as ‘GEMS Rollout Technician” for the “Island schools connectivity to the National Computer Network project”.

 

OBJECTIVES

The objective of the technicians is to work as team under the guidance of National Centre for Information Technology to complete the rollout of e-Services to the island schools.

 

DURATION

1 year

 

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Monitoring the performance of the NCN network and to troubleshoot all areas including cables, and other media linked to the network configuration.
  2. Provide installation and maintenance of all networking equipment classified as:
    1. Standalone personal computers;
    2. All computer peripherals, printers, UPS's, Firewalls, Switches and any other hardware equipment directly involved in the network configuration.
  3. Configuring networks and installs firewall, routers and switches in accordance with National Computer Network across Maldives (Cisco, Juniper).
  4. Offering technical support on-site, phone and via email across the Government Organizations, and troubleshooting a variety of computer issues, network usage and peripheral issues across Government Organizations.
  5. Providing support for helpdesk analysts, resolves connectivity issues, and maintains data and telecommunication connections.
  6. Network Cable Laying IT infrastructure.
  7. Fiber Optic cable splicing.
  8. Prepare site survey reports and documentation required for National Computer Network Connectivity.
  9. Providing Network Configuration for Services provided to Government offices.
  10. Solve eGov infrastructure issues and prepare technical docs.
  11. Manage and carryout all activities involved in eGovernment services rollout and provide onsite support to end-users.
  12. Prepare and manage process-based training materials, FAQ, user guides and other documentations necessary to ensure smooth rollout of eGovernment services.
  13. Troubleshoot and propose solutions to issues encountered in the eGovernment service applications. 
  14. Arrange transportation to islands and travel to islands to rollout eGovernment service applications to government organizations in the islands .
  15. All other tasks or activity required to fulfill the Contractual obligations including administrative tasks, planning, exchanging correspondence, etc.

 

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma (or higher degree) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Strategic Planning or ICT related field, from a recognized institution
  • Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) or General Certificate of Education (GCE)Ordinary-Level Exam with minimum “C” Grade in 3 subjects

 

ADDED ADVANTAGE

  • Previous work experience  in e-service rollout
  • Previous experience in Fiber Optic cable splicing.
  • Good skills in written and verbal communication in Dhivehi and English.
  • Ability to travel and spend long periods of time in the islands.

REMUNERATION

MRF 15,000/-

 

NORMAL WORKING HOURS

Full time: 8:00am – 2:00pm
