CONSULTANCY SERVICES TO FORMULATE DETALIED DESIGN AND TENDER DOCUMENT FOR INTERCONNECTION OF GRID BETWEEN MALE’ AND HULHUMALE’

Request for Proposals

The Government of the Republic of Maldives represented by the Ministry of Environment and Energy (MEE) requires the consultancy service to formulate detailed design and tender documents for interconnection of grid between Male’ and Hulhumale’, thus Ministry re-invites interested parties to conduct this assignment.

The development objective of the proposed project is the improvement of the quality of life of people in the Male’ and Hulhumale’ through improved access to modern electricity. The expected outcome of the project is to establish a power interconnection between Male’ and Hulhumale’.

To be eligible for the position, the individual is expected to demonstrate the following:

a) System design, planning, and construction of diesel power generation;

b) Distribution planning and operations;

c) Power system accounting, finance and economic analysis;

d) The legal system of the Maldives in relation to electricity regulation;

e) The consultancy team should consist of at least an electrical engineer, civil engineer, maniacal engineer and procurement specialist.

In addition, Consultants’ past experience of working with the Client shall be considered.

The duration of the assignment shall be of 120 days from the commencement of the works.

The Ministry of Environment and Energy now invites interested eligible consultants to submit their CV, including information that demonstrates their qualification to perform the services (description of similar assignments and experience in similar conditions, familiarity with appropriate skills, reference etc). A Price Proposal indicating the breakdown of all costs associated to the assignment. The proposal should have a validity of at least 90 days period.

Proposals should be submitted to the Ministry of Environment and Energy address below. All submissions will be opened at the Ministry of Environment and Energy at 1100 hours on 07^th March 2016 in the presence of representative of the bidders.
