Request for Expressions of Interest: Conservation Officer for Addu City Hithadhoo

The Government of the Republic of Maldives through the Ministry of Environment and Energy (MEE) is implementing Climate Change Adaptation Project (CCAP) administered by the World Bank, and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this project to payments under the contract for the services of Conservation Officer for Addu City Hithadhoo. The Ministry of Environment and Energy did not receive sufficient response for the subjected services (Ref No.: (IUL) 438/438/2015/84) and has decided to re-invite interested eligible individuals to submit their Expressions of Interest (EoI) to provide the Services.

The objective of this assignment is to be the key functionary at the atoll/island level with the responsibility to provide technical, administrative and operational support to City/Atoll/Island Councils, and other stake holder agencies including Project staff, consultants, local communities and other civil society stakeholders to deliver various activities of the project as detailed in the Project document, the ESDD document and other such guidance as may be given by MEE and EPA, based on these documents.

Key qualifications of the individuals who apply for the position are:

-  Diploma in Environmental Management or related field;

-  Training in related field will be an added advantage.

-  Minimum two (2) years of work experience in the field.

-  Experience in donor funded projects will be an added advantage.

-  Must be result oriented and proactive. Ability to manage targeted indicators;

-  Strong communication skills in presenting, discussing and resolving difficult issues. Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

-  Interested individuals must provide their CV with information demonstrating that they are qualified to perform the services (description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills, etc.) covering the Key Qualifications listed above.

-  A candidate will be selected based on qualifications and experience in accordance with acceptable procedures.

-  Successful candidate will be paid an all-inclusive monthly fee of MVR 10,000 to 15,000 depending on qualification and experience. The individual for this position will be hired, for a period of Thirty-six (36) months on fulltime basis and may be extended for a further period, based on need and performance.
