Project Manager - A Holistic Approach to Agricultural Food Systems Resilience and Adaptation in Maldives Project

The Government of the Republic of Maldives, through the Ministry of Fisheries, Agriculture and Ocean Resources (MFAOR), is implementing the “A Holistic Approach to Agricultural Food Systems Resilience and Adaptation in Maldives” (GCP/MDV/11411/SCF). The project is a five-year initiative funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) through the Special Climate Change Fund (SCCF), with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) serving as the Implementing Partner.

The project aims to strengthen climate resilience and enhance adaptation within agricultural food systems across selected islands in the Maldives. Project interventions will be implemented in Laamu, Gaafu Alifu, Gaafu Dhaalu, Gnaviyani and Seenu Atolls, contributing to the achievement of national priorities under the Strategic Action Plan and the Maldives’ climate resilience agenda.

The Ministry of Fisheries, Agriculture and Ocean Resources is seeking a qualified and experienced Project Manager to lead the Project Management Unit (PMU) and provide strategic, technical and operational leadership for the successful implementation of the project.

The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing and monitoring all project activities in accordance with the approved Project Document, Annual Work Plan and Budget (AWP/B), Government of Maldives regulations, FAO procedures and GEF requirements. The successful candidate will oversee project implementation, supervise project staff and consultants, coordinate with government agencies, development partners and beneficiaries, ensure timely preparation of technical and financial reports, and support the effective delivery of all project outputs and outcomes.

The details of the Scope of Work, Qualifications, Eligibility Criteria, Duration of Assignment and Remuneration are provided in the attached Terms of Reference (TOR).

• Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV), clearly indicating the starting and ending month and year of each employment;
• Letter of Expression of Interest
• Copy of National Identity Card;
• Copy of MQA-accredited academic certificates and transcripts;
• Employment verification letters from previous employers;
• Letter of No Objection from the current employer for applicants employed in the Civil Service;
• Letter of No Objection from the Project Director for applicants currently employed under project-based contracts; and
• Any additional supporting documents relevant to the application.
