Agro National Corporation (AgroNat) is seeking the services of an Asst. Manager, Legal Affairs, who will assist in reviewing regulations and advise on drafting of contracts, agreements, and other legal documents of the Corporation, and act as a point of communication between the Board of Directors, company shareholders, stakeholders and executive management.

Responsible for ensuring organizational efficiency, compliance with laws, and safeguarding the company’s interests through strong governance, contract management, and legal oversight.
This role blends operational management with legal expertise, making it central to both day-to-day functioning and strategic risk mitigation.
Major Responsibilities
1. Legal Oversight
- Policy Development & Implementation: Establish and enforce policies, procedures, SOP’s and workflows related to legal administration.
- Information Governance: Provide Legal advice on the maintenance of accurate records, filing systems, and document management protocols.
- Budget & Procurement: Oversee departmental budgets, vendor contracts, and procurement processes for efficiency and compliance.
2. Legal Compliance & Risk Management
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the organization adheres to local, national, and international laws.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential legal risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Corporate Governance: Support board and executive leadership with compliance reporting and governance frameworks.
- Corporate Governance: Support the Company Board and executive leadership with governance frameworks, compliance reporting, and policy development.
- Litigation Support: Oversee and manage disputes, coordinate with external counsel, prepare legal documentation, and represent the company before tribunals and courts, as required.
- Legal Research & Advisory: Conduct legal research and provide timely, practical advice on regulatory developments, compliance requirements, and legal risks affecting the organization.
3. Contract & Agreement Management
- Drafting & Reviewing Contracts: Prepare, vet, and negotiate agreements with clients, suppliers, and partners.
- Monitoring Obligations: Track compliance with contractual terms and deadlines.
- Digitization & Automation: Implement contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems to streamline processes.
4. Strategic Advisory Role
- Executive Support: Advise senior management on legal implications of business decisions.
- Policy Advocacy: Represent the organization in regulatory discussions or industry forums.
- Ethics & Integrity: Promote a culture of compliance, transparency, and ethical conduct.
5. Best Practices for Success
- Integrate Legal Functions: Use digital tools to unify workflows.
- Regular Training: Keep staff updated on compliance and governance requirements.
- Proactive Risk Management: Organize audits and scenario planning.
- Executive Communication: Provide clear, concise reports to leadership for informed decision-making.
