Job Responsibilities

  • Preparing, introducing, monitoring concepts, rules, and regulations, governing HSE and fire protection.
  • Preparation of HSE plans for projects.
  • Educate, motivate, and train staff and workers in HSE aspects.
  • Carrying out Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Risk Assessment and carrying out PTW Monitoring and review.
  • Preparing preventive measures to avoid the hazards identified in the projects / terminal.
  • Make Risk assessment of all jobs practicing in the terminal with concerned departments.
  • Dealing with clients, consultants, and government authorities on HSE related matters.
  • Safety inspection of the jetties for the condition of the safety equipments including tie rope, bollard fender etc.
  • Formation of safety committee-site inspection and conducting meeting.
  • Safety performance evaluation of sub-contractors.
  • Selection and procurement of personal protective equipments / safety equipments.
  • Safety budget preparation.
  • Ensuring Firefighting and First Aid facilities are maintained along with safety documentation.
  • Conduct fire drills.
  • Prepare weekly report of unsafe act, unsafe condition & open unsafe condition.
  • Creating safety awareness among staff through Toolbox talks, Safety induction / Orientation / PEP TALKS / Safety mass meetings / Job Safety Analysis.
  • Carrying out safety inspection of work locations, work method, Men, Machinery, Material, Vehicle movement, Tool Tackles, and stores.
  • Monitor HSE performance of execution heads.
  • Conduct Safety audit of documents and site safety conditions.
  • Maintain compliance report of internal audit, client audit, external audit & daily observations.
  • Demonstrating the ability to work alone or in a team.
    Ensuring all work is completed in a safe, environmentally compliant, and cost-effective manner. 
  • Sharing knowledge, skills, and expertise to facilitate a high performing organization. 
  • Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment.
  • Work at elevated heights, enclosed spaces such as tanks, near large, hot, high-speed machines.
  • Work around fuel terminal.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma certificate in safety management or Fire safety or NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Safety Officer or similar role in industrial plants
  • Proficiency in MS Office 
  • Working knowledge of safety management information system and PTW systems 

Preferred Requirements

  • Knowledge of fuel terminals/ refineries.
  • Experience with writing policies and procedures for health and safety.
