Responsibilities
|
- Oversee all activities of the Internal Audit function in line with all relevant laws, regulations, standards, and frameworks. The CIA is required to be independent from the management and appropriately qualified and competent to undertake the responsibilities assigned.
- Develop and execute risk-based audit programs to meet the needs of the Audit Committee, Board, and Executive management of MFMC, considering business objectives, strategies, and risks facing the Company.
- Overseeing and managing compliance within the organization, ensuring that the company and employees are complying with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures.
- Provide fair and balanced insights into the current, emerging, and potential issues, themes, trends, and opportunities that will enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of control processes.
- Formulate the annual audit plan, which includes documentation of audit results, identifying optimization opportunities for key controls, and recommendations for improvements to key processes.
- Formulate and approve the Audit Manual.
- Approve the budget for the Internal Audit function.
- Implement the annual audit plan with a fixed plan of activities along with appropriate investigations.
- Review and adjust the Internal Audit Plan, as necessary and in response to changes in the company’s business, risks, operations, programs, systems, and control.
- Periodically review and recommend updates in corporate accounting policies and procedures framework.
- Periodically provide assurance to the Board regarding the implementation, operation and effectiveness of internal control and risk management.
- Develops and provides training to the staff of the Corporation on internal audit related matters.
- Designs and implements a best practice risk management framework including policies and strategy
- Identify and review the implementation and adequacy of internal controls to mitigate potential or existing financial or operational risks.
- Ensure follow-up mechanism to determine if audit recommendations (both internal and external) are implemented within appropriate and agreed timetable.
- Review and present internal audit reports to the Audit Committee and the Board.
- Coordinate audit operations with activities of the External Auditor, or/and the Auditor General’s Office.
- Respond to matters that emerge from appropriate referring bodies including the Audit Committee, Board of Directors, regulators, etc.
- Assist the Board with establishing ethics policy and whistleblowing procedures.
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal audit policies and procedures in accordance with local and international best practice
- Carry out other duties as assigned by the Audit Committee and the Board of Directors.

Remuneration

- Negotiable based on qualifications and experience.

Qualification and Experience
|
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CPA, CFA, or ACCA)
- Minimum 3-year experience (minimum 2 years’ experience in auditing)
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in a leadership role in a corporate environment
- Knowledge in application of IFRS, ISA and IPPF
|
Knowledge and Skills
|
- Sound knowledge in application of IFRS
- Generalist investment knowledge or experience in back-office work across multiple asset classes (including but not limited to fixed income, FX, equities, real estate, derivates, private equity and hedge funds), with a preference for alternative asset classes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- In-depth knowledge of financial reporting standards, tax regulations, industry legislation and other relative laws and regulations.
- Attention to details and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
