Job Responsibilities 

• Act as Officer in Charge in the Master’s absence.
• Oversee the efficient operation of the deck department.
• Serve as Safety Officer or Accident Prevention Officer.
• Serve as Ship Security Officer or Alternate Ship Security Officer
• Actively understudy the Master in all aspects of his duties and responsibilities and assist as required.
• Ensure safe navigation during watch duty.
• Maintain familiarity with the Company's HSSEQ System.
• Manage ballasting and deballasting, loading and discharging operations, trim and stability, tank cleaning, and gas inserting.
• Plan mooring arrangements and brief the Second and Third Officers before arrival at port.
• Ensure anchors are ready to be lowered when approaching a berth or transiting narrow waters.
• Submit all loading or discharging documents, along with calculation results for the ship’s draft, stability, bending moments, and shear forces, before departure.
• Keep the Master informed about the condition of the hull, tanks, holds, pipelines, and deck equipment.
• Prepare watch lists for port stays and sea watches.
• Ensure sufficient walkie-talkies are available and in working order.
• Oversee the maintenance of all vessel areas, excluding machinery and engine-room stores and spaces, in accordance with the planned maintenance system.
• Calibrate explosimeters, O₂ meters, and all other gas-detecting devices.
• Ensure deckhands are efficiently employed during working hours and that proper on-the-job safety standards and routines are maintained.
• Coordinate and oversee the Pumpman’s daily work during loading, discharging, and tank cleaning operations.
• Prepare dry-docking lists for deck and cargo-related items in cooperation with the Chief Engineer.
• Train the Second and Third Officers in cargo and ballast handling, cargo stowage, and stability calculations.

• Valid Medical Certificate, Passport, CDC, COC, PSSR, EFA, PST, FPFF, PSCRB, SAT, SDSD, SSO, MFA
• Minimum 2 years of experience
