Digital for All invites individuals across the Maldives to apply for its Training of Trainers programme — preparing facilitators to deliver practical digital capability and AI literacy learning in communities, workplaces, schools and training institutions nationwide.

You do not need to be a technology expert or an experienced trainer to apply. We are looking for people who are interested in helping others learn, can communicate clearly and are willing to develop their facilitation skills.

About Digital for All

Digital for All is the Maldives' national campaign to strengthen digital capability and AI literacy under the Maldives 2.0 national digital transformation agenda. The campaign helps people build the practical skills, confidence and judgement needed to use digital services and AI-enabled tools safely, responsibly and productively.

Digital for All is jointly led by the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Skills Development and the Ministry of Homeland Security, Labour and Technology. It is operationalised by Future Institute, with institutional and technical support from MINDCo and MDS.

Who can apply?

Applications are open to individuals from all islands and atolls. You may be a:

• teacher, lecturer or instructor;
• trainer or facilitator;
• youth or community worker;
• council employee, women development committee member or civil servant;
• employee of a private company or state-owned enterprise;
• NGO or civil society representative;
• student or recent graduate;
• digital professional or technology enthusiast; or
• person with an interest in helping others build digital confidence.

Previous training experience is helpful but not required. You do not need to be a programmer, engineer or advanced AI specialist.

• can explain ideas clearly and simply;
• are willing to learn, give and receive feedback;
• are responsible, reliable and respectful;
• can work with people of different ages and backgrounds;
• are interested in digital skills and responsible AI use; and
• may be available to support future Digital for All learning activities.

Applicants who can support Dhivehi-language delivery, island-based communities or priority groups are especially encouraged to apply.

What will you learn?

Selected participants will learn how to:

• introduce digital and AI concepts in a simple and practical way;
• facilitate engaging learning sessions;
• support people with different levels of digital experience;
• promote safe and responsible use of digital technologies;
• help learners identify misinformation and assess AI-generated content;
• support privacy, cybersecurity and digital wellbeing;
• use approved Digital for All learning materials;
• conduct practical learning activities; and
• support basic assessment and participant feedback.

Participants will also be introduced to the National Digital and AI Competency Framework, N-DAC 1.0.

Programme format

The programme may include practical workshops, guided learning, group activities, demonstration sessions, facilitation practice, feedback and a final assessment.

Training may include both online and in-person sessions. Confirmed dates, locations and arrangements will be shared with selected applicants.

Certification and the Facilitator Pool

Participants who successfully complete the required training and assessment may be certified as Digital for All facilitators. Certification confirms that the facilitator is ready to deliver approved Digital for All learning in accordance with national standards.

Certified facilitators will automatically be added to the Digital for All Facilitator Pool — the campaign's national roster of trained facilitators who may be considered for future delivery opportunities through:

• councils;
• schools and training institutions;
• workplaces;
• government institutions;
• approved delivery partner organisations;
• NGOs and community organisations; and
• island-based or mobile outreach programmes.

Completing the programme, or inclusion in the Facilitator Pool, does not guarantee employment, payment or a minimum number of assignments. Future opportunities will depend on programme needs, location, participant demand, facilitator availability, performance and approved delivery arrangements.

A simple application and selection process

The application form will ask only for your name, island and atoll, contact details, current work or area of study, languages you can speak, a short description of any relevant experience, why you would like to join, the groups or communities you would like to support, your availability, and a copy of your CV.

Applicants will not be required to submit certificates, references or extensive supporting documents with the initial application. The form should take approximately five to ten minutes to complete.

Applications will be reviewed based on motivation, communication potential, interest in supporting others, geographic representation, language ability, community or sector reach, and availability to complete the programme. Shortlisted applicants may be invited to a brief discussion or simple facilitation activity.

The selection process will aim to build a diverse national pool of facilitators from across the Maldives.

Accessibility and participation support

Applicants may indicate any accessibility or participation support they require. This will not negatively affect their application.

Access to a suitable personal device may be required for the training and future delivery. Unless otherwise stated, facilitators may be expected to use their own device. Selection does not guarantee that equipment will be provided.
