Allowance

The Site Supervisor will be responsible for supervision of Addu DV/GBV shelter site as needed. The work of the Site Supervisor will include the following tasks, but not limited to: 

 

  1. Physically be on the construction site as required during construction activities.
  2. Ensure instructions provided by the Engineer and Safeguards consultant are being followed and manage teams (where applicable) to achieve daily goals.
  3. Assign and coordinate site works.
  4. Ensure safe and proper use of equipment on site, and compliance with work methodologies.
  5. Maintain the standards and quality of work and workmanship.
  6. Monitor progress of project in accordance with construction schedule and control daily tasks where applicable.
  7. Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment and ensure public safety.
  8. Ensure compliance with all environmental and social safeguard requirements of ADB, in accordance with the guidance provided by the PMU.
  9. Ensure compliance and enforcement of local regulations (safety and environmental regulations, electrical installation standards, etc) and prevent fines and interruptions of work.
  10. Attend to problems at site and help to resolve it through communication with local stakeholders with immediate reporting of all issues to the PMU.
  11. Supervision of work carried out by contractor and providing correcting measures where needed, in consultation with the PMU.
  12. Evaluate work progress and identify in advance any potential issues (whether internal or due to other ongoing projects) that may result in delay of milestones and address the same; and
  13. Weekly reporting to MSFD and other relevant stakeholders on contractor progress, as agreed by the PMU.

 

Responsibilities

  • Diploma in a related field.
  • Experience in supervising construction/utility infrastructure (electricity, water, sewerage etc.) projects will be added advantage.
  • Satisfactory communication skills in Dhivehi and English.

In addition to the above the successful candidate must be willing to work for extended periods without direct supervision.
