PROJECT MANAGER - MALDIVES CLEAN ENVIRONMENT PROJECT

The Government of the Republic of Maldives has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of - Maldives Clean Environment Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for the services of a full-time service of a: Project Manager. The Ministry of Environment Climate change and technology re-invites to submit applications for the post of Project Manager.

The objective of this assignment is operational management of the projects in accordance with the project documents and as per the bank guidelines in collaboration with the project team and stakeholder agencies to ensure all implementation arrangements of projects are carried out smoothly and on time.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

To be eligible for consideration for this position the candidate must meet the following criteria:

Must Meet requirement:

  1. Minimum master’s degree in project management, business administration or in any relevant field.
  2. Minimum seven (7) years of work experience in project management, or in a managerial position.

Added Advantages:

  1. Having two (2) years of experience in donor funded projects.
  2. Specific work experience in an IDA funded project will be an added advantage
  3. Knowledge and understanding in solid waste management will be an added advantage.
  4. Having sound understanding of principles and international best practices in project management, financial management and procurement management; understanding of relevant regulations of the Government of the Maldives.

Willingness to work in a team, be flexible to emerging or changing conditions, and undertake initiative in his/her broad field of actions.

Having strong leadership, management and communication skills in presenting, discussing and resolving difficult issues and have ability to work efficiently and effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

The Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Technology thereby, invites interested individuals, who meet the requirements specified in the TORs to submit the following;

  • Letter of Expression of Interest (EOI)
  • Curriculum Vitae. The CV must contain all the past similar experiences in details
  • Attested copies of educational and professional certificates. Copies of the educational certificate shall be taken from the original accredited certificates.
  • Reference letters from previous employers
  • Copy of the National Identification Card.

Application by a current civil servant must accompany a letter from the applicant’s current employer stating no-objection of releasing him/her from the job.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview. 

The successful candidate must understand the objectives and delivery mechanisms of the project’s portfolio. He/She will be flexible to emerging or changing conditions and undertake an initiative in his/her broad field of actions.

Successful candidate will be paid an all-inclusive monthly remuneration as per the table below:
